This project is the most near and dear to my heart. This entire piece only consists of words that I have personally felt and experienced during the year, 2014. Originally, this piece was an outlet for me, and a way to express the pain and anguish I felt, so that I could finally achieve closure in my life.

However, after seeing the piece on display at multiple locations, (LCAD, South Coast Plaza, Laguna Beach Festival of the Arts, and the Orange County Office of Education), the piece was no longer about me–it was much larger than that. I found that as I observed passerby's, that my piece was like a beacon to them–drawing them in. It was like it called to them, and the people would stand there watching my art as if it was a story I was telling. It brought my family and I to tears seeing how people accepted my story. It was then that I realized, that I was not alone in my journey, and that there is a world of people that share stories and experiences like mine.

The New York District Kiwanis "Anti-bullying" chairperson, Keith F. Cummings, reached out to me and asked to use "2014" in his anti-bullying tour. Immediately, I accepted and felt like I had done something that could help many people like me.

I hope that my story has brought awareness to the pain that bullying causes, and inspire change.
